Famous Since 1902

As a 100+ year old Indianapolis institution, I am As a 100+ year old Indianapolis institution, I am proud that St. Elmo Steak House has been my families business for more than 30 years. And like a family, we are mourning the loss of a long-time, valued employee and genuinely great person, who had a huge heart and a glowing smile. Thank you to the thousands of people who have reached out to myself, and members of our restaurant group expressing support during this difficult time.

We ask that you respect this person’s privacy and allow family and friends to grieve their loss. I am collaborating with our employee’s family to create a fundraiser on this person’s behalf. Their family is our family.

Overwhelming support from clients and guests sharing similar situations from their families and workplaces, helps us know that we are not alone.

I would like to thank our amazing employees and patrons who have reached out to us during this difficult time. The safety of our employees and patrons is and always will be, our highest priority. Since the world changed in March of 2020, the hospitality industry has been one of the hardest hit industries financially. All the while, we worked diligently to provide a safe dining experience for guests to be nourished and entertained. And equally important we have provided employees the opportunity to earn the financial means to provide a living for their families.

This all occurred while using stringent protocols above and beyond what is recommended by the CDC and state and local health departments.

While we understand the importance of media coverage regarding the devastating effects of the pandemic, no one has gotten to this point unaffected either personally or professionally.

Hospitality traits of kindness, empathy, professionalism, and grace will allow our community and state to heal and move us all forward.
